2024: What a Ride!

2024: What a Ride!

As the dust settles on another exhilarating year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on 2024—a year filled with expansion, innovation, and community-building. At Alliance ASE, our mission has always been to create spaces that inspire movement, connection, and joy. In 2024, that mission brought us to new countries, new challenges, and new milestones, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who’s been part of the journey.

Let’s dive into some highlights from this unforgettable year:

Pump Tracks: Building Thrills Across Borders

2024 was the year we truly broadened our horizons, completing over 40 pump track projects in 8 countries. For the first time, our tracks now stretch into Italy, and France. In France, one of our most exciting projects was a pump track built alongside a water park near Paris—a unique pairing that promises year-round fun. In Italy, Gorizia and Modena became home to our first two Italian pump tracks. Austria reaffirmed its status as a pump track hub, with 19 new tracks completed this year. From Vienna to Königswiesen, we created tracks of all shapes and sizes, proving there’s a pump track for everyone. Slovenia welcomed 7 new pump tracks, bringing the total number of Alliance-built tracks to over 90! Meanwhile, in Croatia, we added 5 new tracks, including one at the Valamar Bike Center in Poreč, further cementing Croatia’s reputation as a year-round cycling destination. Our work in Hungary and North Macedonia highlights the transformative power of pump tracks. In Bitola, North Macedonia, our 8th pump track ties into a broader network of mountain bike trails we developed two years ago, creating a vibrant outdoor recreation hub.

Trail Construction: Staying True to Our Roots

Trails are where our story began, and they remain at the heart of what we do. This year, we had the privilege of working in Serfaus, Austria, building a new flow trail that seamlessly blends into the region’s stunning natural landscape. Other projects in Maria AlmGaltür, and Turracher Höhe, in collaboration with Allegra, reinforced our dedication to building sustainable trails that connect people to nature.

Closer to home, we completed final touches on the trails in Maribor Bike Park and Rogla Ski Resort, continuing our commitment to elevating Slovenia’s mountain biking scene.

Skate Parks: Expanding Horizons

This year saw us stepping further into the skate park scene. In Gorizia, Italy, we built a concrete skate park alongside a pump track, revitalizing a previously neglected urban area. This project was part of a broader urban renewal initiative, aimed at transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant community hubs. The skate park quickly became a favorite spot for local youth and urban sports enthusiasts, adding a dynamic recreational element to the area. Two new skateparks opened in Slovenia in 2024, thanks to our work in 2023! One’s in Velenje and the other’s in Ptuj. Both openings were a big success. By year’s end, we had also begun preparations for a larger, state-of-the-art concrete skate park in Slovenia. This upcoming project, set to break ground as soon as weather permits in 2025.

Planning: Designing the Future

Our planning team had an extraordinary year, completing over 200 planning projects worldwide, from Europe, USA to the Middle East and Africa. These projects included a diverse array of recreational spaces, from pump tracks and skate parks to MTB trails and urban parks, each tailored to the unique needs of the communities we serve. In Europe and the USA, we supported municipalities in integrating recreational hubs into their urban environments, while in the Middle East, our designs focused on sustainable solutions to accommodate extreme climates. In Africa, we collaborated with local stakeholders to develop accessible and culturally resonant spaces. Whether it’s envisioning the initial layout, refining detailed designs, or providing technical support during execution, our team’s dedication to innovation and excellence ensures every project contributes to a more active and connected world.

Community: The Heart of Our Work

This year, we partnered with SOS Kinderdorf in Altmünster, Austria, to build a pump track for less privileged children, proving that these spaces can be about so much more than sport—they can be about inclusion and opportunity. We also supported the rebuild of the legendary dirt jump spot, Divjina, host of the renowned Red Bull Wild Ride event.

We also supported cycling culture by sponsoring pump track leagues and championships in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and Hungary. And, for the first time, we launched the Alliance ASE Racing Team, giving our employee-racers a platform to pursue their passion for downhill, enduro, and pump track racing.
