Spaces That Move Communities Forward

Spaces That Move Communities Forward

This summer, our team has been more active than ever – travelling across Europe and even across the Atlantic – building pumptracks, skateparks, trails, and skills parks that are already transforming the way communities spend their free time. From small towns to major cities, one message is becoming clearer with every project: when municipalities invest in active infrastructure, they invest directly in the health, happiness, and future of their people.

Why Active Infrastructure Matters

Pumptracks, skateparks, and trails are more than just playgrounds for bikes, boards, and scooters – they are inclusive community meeting points. A well-designed pumptrack, for example, can be enjoyed by children taking their first laps on a balance bike, teenagers testing their tricks, and adults rediscovering the joy of movement. Unlike many sports facilities, these spaces are free to access, require no membership, and encourage spontaneous participation.

For municipalities, this means creating a safe and engaging environment that naturally brings people together. Families gather, friendships form, and neighbourhoods gain a new heartbeat. What may begin as a sports facility quickly grows into a social hub – a place where generations connect.

New Project in the USA: Alabama Pumptrack

Among the many projects completed this summer, one stands out as a true milestone: the pumptrack in Alabama, USA. This is our second American project, marking an important step in bringing the culture of pumptracks across the ocean.

Scheduled for completion in early September, the Alabama pumptrack is more than just a cycling facility. For the local community, it will be a safe, inclusive space for movement and play. For us, it is proof that the value of such infrastructure resonates everywhere – from European alpine villages to American towns. The universal appeal of pumptracks shows that the desire for healthy, social, and active living is shared worldwide.

A Summer of New Beginnings Across Europe

This summer, we built 17 pumptracks in 8 countries. Several stand out: we celebrated national firsts in Bucharest, Romania, and Levski, Bulgaria, where we delivered each country’s very first pumptrack. In Montafon, Austria, a pumptrack with a wooden wall ride quickly became a local attraction, while in Foligno, Italy, our fourth Italian project introduced a versatile layout and dynamic jump line.

We also built our first island pumptrack – on Rab, Croatia – as part of our long-term collaboration with Valamar, Croatia’s leading resort operator.

Beyond Tracks and Parks

Our mission doesn’t stop at pumptracks. In Schneeberg, near Vienna, we’ve been shaping mountain bike trails that will soon form the backbone of a brand-new bike park. In Bad Hindelang, Germany, we’ve laid the foundations for a skills park – a space that will help children and adults alike improve coordination, balance, and confidence in a fun, playful way. In Wels, Upper Austria, construction has begun on another skills park.

These projects demonstrate that municipalities are thinking bigger: not only about sports, but about creating comprehensive outdoor infrastructure that makes active living a part of everyday life.

Slovenia’s New Skateparks

One of the most exciting projects was completed near Slovenia’s capital, in Domžale, where we built a brand-new skatepark. Officially opened at the end of August, it has already become a vibrant center of youth culture. Designed for skateboarders, BMX riders, and scooter users, the skatepark injects fresh energy into the community and provides young people with a safe, modern space for creativity, sport, and socializing.

We have also started building another skatepark on the border with Italy – part of a larger urban sports park that will include a pumptrack, basketball court, running track, outdoor fitness area, and other amenities.

These skateparks are more than just playgrounds – they are statements that municipalities can create environments where active lifestyles and community spirit thrive side by side.

The Community Effect

The value of these spaces lies not only in their design, but in their impact. When a municipality opens a new pumptrack or skatepark, the effects are immediate:

  • Children gain a safe place to ride, away from traffic.
  • Teenagers get a challenging environment where they can develop their skills.
  • Parents enjoy peace of mind knowing their kids are active and safe.
  • Local businesses benefit from increased visitors spending more time in the area.
  • The entire community gains a new reason to gather, share, and stay active.

In this sense, every pumptrack or skatepark is an investment in public health, social cohesion, and the long-term attractiveness of the town itself. It is infrastructure that pays back far beyond its construction cost.

Looking Ahead

Each project, whether in a large city or a small village, carries the same goal: to bring movement closer to the people. The municipalities of the future will not only be measured by their roads, schools, or cultural centers, but also by the spaces they provide for active living.

We are committed to helping communities take that step – building spaces that move, inspire, and connect. If you’re inspired to create a new pump track, trail, or skatepark, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us!
