The municipality of Trofaiach wanted to revive a once-popular children’s playground. The area with around 1300 m2, placed next to the residential area, became the prime spot to host a large pump track with a jump line as well as a smaller kid’s pump track. The kids pump track is specially designed to suit the needs of kids on striders and beginners on bikes.
Asphalt pump tracks are a global trend in the sports infrastructure. Addressing more than 15 sports and 3 Olympic disciplines, the pump track as a single object represents a multi-purpose sports facility. It can be used by almost any bike, striders, rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, and other sports equipment on wheels, including wheelchairs. As such it is a truly unique environment for anyone between the age of 2 and 70, bringing together families and the whole community.
In order to attract its visitors, the sports & play infrastructure must be attractive and consequently in line with current trends. Secondly, it should target a wider spectrum of users when possible. Single user group facilities are at risk when the interest of this group loses interest, not to mention higher costs and the need for space when placing multiple objects.
